I don't want to start a insane discussion, but somewhere elsewhere I read that the RSSI can be enabled (on the display) on 3600 systems when the radio had either a certain firmware or flashcode of which I don't remember, hence this post.
Who has an XTS3000 with the RSSI enabled on a 3600 baud system and what firmware/flashcode is in it.
Also, does anyone have a good picture of what the display would look like with the RSSI enabled on-screen?

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the greyed-out s-meter bars on the upper right portion of the display, however are you referring to the digital RSSI indicator which can be reviewed via pressing the SITE button? (purple button, when programmed as such via RSS/CPS)
I'm pretty sure the SITE button will only display RSSI values when you're on a SmartZone system.
As for the greyed-out indicator in the upper right, I've never seen it work before. I believe this is your question

No, I was referring to the LCD indicators in the corner of the display.
But as for the Site/display, that does only work on SmartZone systems. It is also supposed to work on WAC systems, too- but the RSSI is not displayed.
It seems that on Smartzone with Affiliation disabled via tx inhibit, while the radio does follow the system (Smartnet/ "SmartZone Simulcast") just fine, I find it a bit of a pain because the radio has a big delay inbetween switching between systems and often states "out of range" and beeps when it gets over to the other system where as "affiliation disabled" wouldn't. There's also a delay when turning off the radio- to the point where I don't even want to have it enabled.
