I'm looking to install a ham radio in a full-size conversion van and am pondering my options. Has anyone here done such a thing in the past and willing to share with me the method which they used?

Further, can anyone point me in the direction of companies/websites offering after-market radio installation solutions (consoles, brackets, etc.)?

Thanks in advance.
Mike

We're going to need alittle more information. Are you installing HF, VHF, UHF, Dual Band, a combination of the above ? As for console suggestions check the thread within this forum titled Console Suggestions. There are several links listed there for console manufactures and retailers.[/b]

Sorry; the radio I'm installing is an Icom IC-2100H; it's a single-band, 2-meter radio.

I'll check out that thread you made mention of; thanks.

Mike:

That radio, like most of them, gets pretty hot when you transmit on high power for any length of time, so watch out that your provide proper ventilation, especially if you sink it into a console.
