I have a MT2000 top display radio. I don't know why but the radio WILL let me program more than the normal 48 channels into it. So far I have gone up to 78 channels. I have a few other MT2000 top displays and they will not yet me put more than 48 channels in to the radio. Why will the one radio yet me put so many channels in? Is there any special set of MT2000's or is this just a fluke thing. I know that they should only let be put in 48 channels.

Sounds interesting, but you still must be limited to accessing only 3 zones of 16 channels, correct?
I suppose something like this could be done in lab by adjusting the max channel # in the radio and keeping the model # and making sure your display is set to 6 characters.
Take care..Chris

Yes I only can use 3 zones of 16. But I can use any of channels over 48 in the zones. They dont have to be with in the 48 to work. And my scan list is the same way. I have the norm 3 scan list of 15 channals. but the same as the zone list the scan list will work on the channels over 48 as long as they are in one of the 3 zones. This one has me stumped as as you can see I dont know all that much. Im better with schematic than Rss.

Also I forgot to write that I cant cross zone scan with this radio. I can put a few channels from each zone in the first scan list but it will only scan the channels of the zone im in. Not all the channels in the scan list.

You can do 96 channels by programming the scan selector as a A/B zone switch. Then the A-B-C switch has two modes 1-48 in A mode and 49-96 in B mode. Done via the LAB software...or so I've been told!

You can scan modes in other zones, you just have to assign the mode via the scan list. I'll explain it in detail later if you want, I have 2 MT-2000's to program later and it will be fresh in my memory.

Because the top display has a rollover channel knob, you can put as many channels into one zone as you wish. I have an MTX UHF top display and it is sweet. Having the display on top is beautiful when on your belt or chest harness, not to mention the fact of the mode capabilities.

MT-2000 channel selectors don't "roll-over"

Ok here we go again. This radio has never been programed with Lab Rss. (I dont have lab) and I am the first & only owner of this radio. I just tried to ad as many channels as I could. And the Rss stopped me at 250 channels. I cant ad more than 3 zones. I also tried to change how I change the zones and the only way I can change the zones is with the top switch or the knob under the channel knob. None of the side button will let me program them to have anything to do with the zones. I would love to have someone with lab see whats up with my codeplug. I just can't understand how this would come from Big "M" this way. But anyway I would like to say Thank you to the few people that took the time to Reply to this post.

There is a MTS-2000 top display that is capable of 255 channels and the radio has a
channel knob without any stops, just keeps turning from ch.1-255 Maybe due to a stability or a software glitch the RSS thought it was reading one of these MTS-2000's. To eliminate this possibility read the radio and take a look at the model# it displays. I have one of these previously mentioned MTS-2000's in VHF and the model # is H01KDD9PW9BN

Ok the model# is H01SD9AA4AN the radio software version is 01.42 and the codeplug version is 0009. Im starting to really want to be able to use the extra channels. I can also set up more than three scan list. I didn't think I could but I can. If any one has labtools for the mtsx please e-mail me and I will let you play with my codeplug to see if you can figure this out for me. The more I think about this the more I want the 250 channels. Thanks
