WOW!! Check out the MOL site under "Service News" dated June 12, 2003.

This is a just released 8 page Motorola document which gives the definitive word on computer compatibility issues, and solutions, for running DOS on modern machines. It also discusses a number of problems, and solutions, for CPS use, by Motorola model.

It also has a summary for the most current release, and the next scheduled release dates, for RSS and CPS. This is a first as regards to future release dates. For instance, the next release of Quantar RSS is Oct, 2003. This is really great info!

This new document also points out which operating systems work, and DON'T WORK, with CPS releases, by Motorola model type. For instance, there are TONs of cases where Windows XP will NOT work with CPS. Clearly, you are 100% safe with Windows 2000 Professional.

There is a lot of great info in this new document if you are intertested in the latest developments and issues with CPS, as well as new advice and information regarding RSS and DOS running on modern PCs.

Check it out now on MOL!

Could you possibly post a link to that, Larry? The only thing I can find under service news is "warranty claim procedures" dated 17 April 2003. That's one of the things I dislike about MOL, it seems everyone gets a different login page, and the search function can't find it's own ass.

Todd, unfortunately it is an "https" link, so posting the URL won't do any good unless MOL has authorized you (e.g., your particular PC) to log into it. It is under the "Service News" section, dated 12 June 2003, and it is entitled "sb-sy-9505-g2," which is a bizarre title.

MOL has a lot of information, but they allow various levels of access, which essentially depends on whether you are a large buyer or not. Several of the Batwingers seem to have full access on MOL, while others don't. Again, it depends on annual dollars spent, from what my Motorola salesman told me. He had to submit a bunch of paperwork to get me full access. I had recently ordered a bunch of XTS3000s and ASTRO Spectras, so we were approved.

If you post the link, those of us with a MOL account can use that link to get the data.

And yes - mother M is aware of this workaround, and states:

If you recieve a link from an authorized dealer, it is viewable under the assumption that you are allowed to see the information contained within.

So...

Post away my friend.

Actually,

We can't really post that information because it's in the agreement when you signup for MOL that you can't redistribute or copy the information as you get it from the site - or something along those lines.

While I don't really have a set policy on posting links to such, I would assume for now that the user does this at their own risk.

Eh... I never signed an agreement. Nor did I ever see an agreement. I was just given a login. Not to mention, i am not claiming that i wrote it so... there shouldn't be a copyright issue. Honestly, it is no big secret... infact it is information they want to disseminate. So in theory, we are doing them a favor....

Besides, if anyone important (no offense alex -- i ment from M) throws a fit... i can pull it. NBD.

Ah!

Well then! When I did my login and such, it had me go through and do the I agree thing, so...

Regardless, whatever works for ya. You would think they would want stuff to get out just enough that their call centers get less calls for bs questions..

But if you haven't seen, how can you be bound by it :)
