cps 2.05.00 error with XTS3000

I'm receiving the following Error Code > 80040401: "Couldn't create stream on device"
when programming a XTS3000 HT, sometimes it will read, sometimes it will write but mostly I just get the above error code and I have a lot of radios to program. This is on a laptop PC with the power mgmt crap disabled BTW. Anyone know this particular error code ? It isn't in the programming book.

This is usually due to not enough memory or too slow a PC when using CPS.

it happens on several brand New dell laptops some are 1 GHz some are 1.7 GHZ running a variety of OP systems from pro 2000 to XP and all PCs are maxed out so they have more memory than the CPS requires. One thing we found out is if we removed the battery and then rebooted they would program but only once, after a try with a 2nd radio we had to remove the battery and start all over again. Doesn't act up when the laptops are running off of a AC supply, only with battery power, and the battery meters on each PC are showing 97 to 99 % cpacity. All power mgmt crap is turned off.

In you box that your software came in, is a support hotline. If you call them they will ask you a few questions and then walk you through the fix. I had a problem to but it was mostly with Win XP. It is fixed and working fine now.
