ASTRO Saber - Motorola To Cancel Service Support!

Post by ASTROMODAT »

Check out the Service Announcements on MOL dated July 2, 2003. They are announcing that they have set a hard date after which Motorola will no longer service the ASTRO Saber!

Might still be a little time to dump your ASTRO Saber(s) on eBay, and upgrade to the still current/in production XTS radios.

Seems like the newer Motorola radios have an increasingly short half life---no longer like the good 'ol days of the Micors and MXs, and the like. I guess that's called "technology advancement!"

It would be helpful if you took the time to post the date...

What radios do you own?: APX / Astro 25 / Harris

WHy dump perfectly good radios when the intent of cancellation date usually means 7 years past that date for depot service and parts availability.

I believe the astro saber became a cancelled product as of last December.

And if the current stuff is so lousy - go buy MA/COM

Better radios

Support Cancellation for the Astro Saber is 6/1/2008, though its likely certain parts will start to become NLA before that if the trend that we are seeing continues..
