POLICE IMPALA 6J3 Option Jumper

THe jumper on the 6J3 option at the underhood connector is missing. The waterproof male side is there in the harness but the part that goes from that connector (next to the battery) to the grill area is what I need, I need it with the other half of the plug. The dealer cannot figure out what the part is so maybe one of you experienced Impala installers know what I am talking about.

This is the cable that carries 4 wires for the grill lights / Sirens Speaker option.

Stan,

I know what you are talking about. I have seen the extentsion harness that terminates behind the grill. The only one I that ive used is on a factroy demo car. All the state bid cars dont have that option for the "extra" harness. I just always removed the plug and attached longer leads. You may be able to find the exact part in a detailed factory manual .

FF Thanks

The wires are so short I don't want to remove the plug but get the connector and extension.

I found it at the dealer for 37.00 wow for a plug and 3 ft. of wire but at least it is going to be correct.

Thanks again

$37 Thats about right for a plug and a few wires.... No wonder the state bid cars don't have them.

Here is the trick Stan, Take the 2 bolts out . Lean the seat back about 3/4 of the way. Now lift the back of the seat up. Pull the front up and back. The front is held in by pressure in 2 slots in the metal. It takes a bit of " finagleing" but once you do it is like riding a bike..
