XTL 5000 W3 Control Head

Our dept. is getting ready to spend about $500,000 for new 800MHz radios (XTS5000 & XTL5000).
Has anyone had experience with the W3 control head, mic/controls in one? This is the same W3 as the Spectra radio. Thinking of using them in unmarked vehicles.
Any comments are appreciated!!

i have owned two.
and i miss them both.
the display is awesome, the backlight is good, they are durable and easy to hide when you don't need it.
the display (same as an astro saber) is much much better than ANY vacuum-flourescent spectra display.
suggestion - you MAY want some kind of contractual upgrade path from Motorola on the new LCD XTL5000 displays ----- ?? so they don't hammer you $500 a pop when u want a display that's not useless in bright sunlight.

I have two W3's and love them. I am using a dual band COMPROD disguise AM/FM antenna, and you can not see a thing. Might upgrade the radios to Spectra Pluses, so I can get 512 modes.
Batdude is right, you may wish to get some sort of deal on the LCD display, when the come available.
