Security Password

Dear all,
I bought a Astro Saber 3 and there is a Radio lock function.
I am going to use this function for avoiding people to access my radio.
I asked the seller but he forgot did he enter his own password or not.
So, I would like to active this function but I am worry if there is a PSW installed (not Motorola factory preset [01234567]), please teach me :
1. If I key in the password which it is in correct what I can do ?
2. I read the manual which said if I input 3 times still incorrect password the radio will [Dead Lock], how can I reset the password ?
3. Could I following the manual input [********] then earse the password then return to Motorola Factory preset PSW [01234567] ?
4. If I input 8 asterisks [********], will it earse all frequency and function that I did program ?
