Batboard

Attempting an install detail on my friends 01 Grand Cherokee. Currently he is using the SVP remote siren with the slidebar, switches and PA in the remote handle due to the space restriction in that vehicle.
However, we have a Unitrol Touchmaster sitting around and it is needless to say that it's a travesty that the poor thing is not hooked up to make some noise!

In front on the gear shifter there is a plastic panel - I don't believe there is anything underneath it either...any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

It's safe to mount in the tray ahead of the shifter. There isn't much below this area. All wiring runs low near the floor. I have my CDM1550 control head mounted here.

Have fun running cables to the rear of these vehicles- especially if you use many strobes!

In my 2000, I have:
CDM1550 lowband
300 watt RF amp for lowband. (converted from 10 meters)
Kenwood TK790/890 dual band.
Comtelco antennas.
4 strobes in rear lights (Whelen....yes, Whelen. It was free)
6 strobes in the front (Sound-Off)
Q-switch headlight flasher (Sound-Off)
Backflasher (Sound-Off)
Tomar TLED series LED dash light.
All switches located in the ashtray. Power supplies, flashers and power distribution is under rear seat area. All three radio 'suitcases' are mounted to the floor in the extreme right/rear area of the cargo bay and are powered through a Chargeguard module. A 75A #8 power feed supplies all units. (I know- someone's gonna say "you can't get 75A through a #8 cable". Well, you can with some heat loss. This is MY OWN vehicle, and it changes weekly. I get a reliable 75A loading the rear with a carbon pile. The cable has slight heat after a while, but nothing dangerous. I should have used #6, but this is more of a "toy" than anything.)
