CPS 3.00 for the 5K problem

I have a XTS5K full feature 800. In CPS 3.00 I can't turn on the DTMF for conventional channels. The feature is greyed out. I have done the phone unlimted and have tried every form of phone setup, no luck. This is a radio that had all the problems of the first series flashed out of it so it needed the newer CPS.
Just asking? I have found other " bugs " in different CPS for other radios.
This might be another " bug "

I know on my VHF I needed to have it flashed to host/dsp firmware 3.0 to get DTMF working. What version host/dsp do you have?

I haven't tried 800 MHz conventional DTMF but I can try it later.

MY VHF XTS5000with the FPP option will do auto dial DTMF but I haven't been able to get it to do real time hot keypad DTMF yet.

By this I mean I can enter phone numbers from the keypad into the auto dial memories while in the PHONE menu and then go back into the PHONE LIST and select LNUM and then key the radio and it will then send out the DTMF digits just fine but as for directly hitting a DTMF digit and have it sent out in real time, well so far no such luck yet, and yes I have hot keypad and all other DTMF options turned on in all channels, in fact the phone dialer and menu items and channels are setup exactly like my VHF XTS3000 and it does hot real time keypad DTMF.

My host and DSP are R03.00.03 and R03.00.01 respectively.

In order for the hot keypad on mine to work I need to set the access and deaccess to blank, then set up the DTMF for immediate instead of buffered.

To access the hot keypad I select phone in the menu, then I can use the keypad. Sort of a safety feature. I do not know if this is intended operation or a bug.

ok I'll try access and deaccess, I didn't have to fool with that with my 3000s. Leave it to moto to change how it works on their next radio line.

'This feature is currently not supported'

Manual Access Live Dialing

(Phone Configuration, General)

Enables radio-user manual entry of phone system access digits and live

My immediate live dialing still will not work and I found out why:
The above text is what comes up on the help screen for my XTS5000 VHF FPP radio when I go into the manual access live dialing help screen for the phone page, note at the top it says 'this feature is currently not supported'. It is is bold red letters.

Apparently this only works on 700/800 radios for now.

God Curse Motorola. You would thing that live DTMF Pad on the TOP tier radio series would be standard. I was going to upgrade to the 5K series, but not now!!
A POX on the engineer who did this.

I think it will be fixed soon as it is in my CPS and all of the help files are there it's just that it doesn't work.

I'd bet that it was probably a decision between time to market and time to get it working 100%. I remember the XTS3000 Tuner software took 2 or 3 revisions to support Receiver BER testing.

You have an FPP 5000? Did you get this from a regular dealer? Just wondering, I have been thinking about getting one if I can find the money.

Yes I do have VHF FPP

no not from a dealer, we buy directly from Motorola Govt. division. i don't think They'll sell FPP unless you have some dealings with govt. customers but I may be wrong.

1A000 10001005 I don't think the flash code key decoder will work with to display all the options, but I haven't tried it yet.
