What is the difference between the MSF5000 analog and digital repeater?

Biggest differences are the digital (capable) station can accomodate the secure board and it is RSS programmable. Analog programs with a EEprom with the r1800 suitcase.

My two bits worth:
It is as Dave says, The performance as a radio is identical because the RF components are identical between models.

The "Digital" model is more flexable, because the TTRC can be made to perform functions that formerly required the expansion chassis, and wild card.
This is most handy when interfacing external controllers with 600Z
audio.
If you just need a garden variety repeater either will do.
