WHat do you mean? you cant find on the RSS where to program the ID's?

Or you figured out how to put the ID's in, but after programming you cant call that ID at all?

Make sure you have the "Rx Unmute Rule" set to "Selective Squelch" under the Conventional Personality-ASTRO tab.

Make sure both radios are using the same ASTRO talkgroup.

And make sure everything under Conventional Personality-ASTRO Call is checked.

The problem seems to be when I select an ID to selectively call someone everyone else hears it too........and I also have to select the called ID everytime I Tx, is there a way to enter and exit this mode of calling when needed ??? As a note I don't know if the State of NH has there radios set up this way.............

The problem of everyone else hearing the selective call is most likely caused by the wrong setting on the "RX Unmute Rule". It is probably set to "Normal Squelch". It needs to be set to "Selective Squelch" for the select call feature to work right. All radios on the system need to be set this way, even if they will not be sending or receiving selective calls.

You can program a side button to quickly go into the Select Call menu. On the radios I've used, you hit the button, enter the ID you want to call, and then talk. You only need to enter the ID once per conversation, at the most. At the end of the conversation, press HOME to exit the selective call menu.

Keep in mind when a radio receives a select call, it does not automatically go into select call mode when you transmit your reply. Once you receive a select call, you have to go into the select call menu and make sure the ID of the radio that just called you is on the display. Otherwise, you will be replying to all the other radios out there. If you use this feature a lot, it helps to have a side button programmed for this.

Usually, when a radio receives a selective call, it will populate the ID field in the select call menu with the number of the radio that just called it. So replying to a select call should just require a single button press.

Allof the above info is for P25/IMBE radios. Selective calls on VSELP radios may work differently.
