Has anyone else had Larsen Coils (LB and VHF) going intermittenly open after little use? Wrote Larsen about this same problem over 6 years ago. Came close to losing a major customer because of repeated antenna failure. Changed to ASP products and have had zero problems in same situations.

Yes. We at the NCSHP Comm & Logistics have had the same problem. Seems Radiall/Larsen fixed the problem as a running production change with a new coil support piece. We shall see.

That, and the plastic which always seemed to crack at the base where the brass piece which screws onto the MNO mounts, is why I gave up on larsen many years ago.

Have had good luck with Maxrad, Antenex, Comtelco and ASP.
