Well seeing as my vehicle was just totaled (pics here) I am now buying a new vehicle. I've got my eyes set on a Full size Bronco (Actually about a day from buying on off someone just need to get the once over by a mechanic) I'll get to have the fun of putting all my stuff back in! I pulled it all out of the X (Didn't realize how many wires I had installed over the year). I decided to leave all the NMO mounts and power leads and just use new for this one. I'll only be reusing a few things actually, just the major pieces of hardware. I need to figure out how to mount my console down as they don't make a seat bolt bracket for a full size bronco (May have a metal shop modify the Explorer one). I'll be posting pics of the new vehicle as I get everything done. *sigh* sad to see that X go, it had done me well!

This time you can use the lessons learned from your previous installation to make this one better. That is providing the lessons are there. I know that they were for me.

For the mouont, just go to Home Depot and get a 1-1/2" X 1/8" steel flatbar, bend it into the proper shape for your seat bolts and attach you console bracket to it. You'll probably cut part of your original brakcet ears off. This will usually mount a console to any vehicle they don't make mounts for.

That's a great idea Jim! Have you had good success with that textured spray paint? I don't recall who makes it.

Yeah I think this vehicle will be much easier to wire after the last one

Welcome to the Club.. I have a 91 Bronco full sized as my daily driver, and I love it. You can fit up to 32" tires on the stock rims, but I'm just running 31X10.50 BF Goodrich all-terrin's (sp) on mine....those tires kick @ss. Plus for my radios (right now, just a old Regency UHF, Scanner, and VHF A9 Spectra all stacked on each other on the transmission hump for the time being... it works.

hehe I can't wait to pick it up! It's got 31s on it right now and looks really good. It's got the 3.55 rearend so I doubt I'll go any bigger. What kind of mileage you been getting with it? According to the numbers the seller gave me they were getting about 13-14 Not too bad for a 5.8 V8!

I have the 5.0 (302) and I get between 14-18 depending...so I would say you are in the ballpark with the 351 getting 14 or so.

What year Bronco are you looking at getting?

I have a '93 Bronco that I have had for about 4 years now. Right now I only have my 780xlt scanner and Spectra vhf in it. Mine is retired from the CHP and was used up in Northern California.

I got a '94. It's an ex Vacaville park unit (Unity spotlights too ). I just put in the console I pulled out of my Explorer. It was easier to just pop two bolts and fender washers through the floorboard than to use stock metal to the seat bolts. I still have to add all the cabling like power and radio. I'm tempted to get a dashmount Spectra in place of my x9000 and not worry about running wires all the way to the back. Anyone have a 40 watt dashmount that they want to get rid of?
