I've got an Astro Spectra W7 I seperated. I was left with a HLN6401A interconnect board. I recently bought a 900Mhz Spectra A7 that came WITHOUT an interconnect board. How convenient!! I've got one! I put the HLN6401A in the radio and put the head back on. When I power it up it throws a FL 01/90. The guy made me no gurantees when he sold it to me. Before I try the x9000 head trick swap thingy to try and recover the EEPROM, is there anything I need to do to this interconnect board? Is it compatable? Do I need to jump pinscut traces or anything? I know there's been talk about compatibility of interconnect boards and work-arounds to make them cmpatible. Is there a work around for this one or it is just plain compatable and there's just something wrong with the radio?
Scott.

Interconnect board from ASTRO W7 used in A7

Do you have the Accessory plug (15 pin connector) on the back of the radio wired to 12volts? While not required for remote operation, as ignition is inputted via the control head end, it would certainly cause this in dash mount config. If you do, you should check the model number for the interconnect board that is spec'd for use with that model radio.
I have used the HLN6285A interconnect boards with Astro's and older analog conventional Spectras without a problem. not sure about the model # you have there..

Yes, Ignition sense is powered to the 15 pin connector. Anyone know anything about this particular interconnect and it's compatibility with an A7? how about "making" it compatible?Do you have the Accessory plug (15 pin connector) on the back of the radio wired to 12volts? I'm going to test with a KNOWN GOOD interconnect as soon as I get the radio back. I gave it to a friend of mine who's mounting it in a custom console. Once he's done with it, I'll test. Should be done by the weekend. If it works w/o the fail 01/90, then I'll know for sure it's mine. If it's just an incompatibility with my astro interconnect, then you've got a deal. I'll update on this tonightI'll swap you a regular interconnect board for the Astro one...

You could also save yourself some time and check the batlabs spectra page for the quick mod to change the board over to the 6285, which is the interchangable one.
