AS3 programming questions

Once I find a suitable VHF AS3 for my personal consumption, I'm gonna need it programmed, right? Duh...

What is part number and revision for the current RSS and/or CPS for the AS3? Can you even get RSS for it anymore?

I saw somewhere the going rate on purchasing a legit package from /\/\ was in the ballpark of $300....can anyone confirm or deny this?

NOTE for the Mods: This is NOT a request for the software....just a request for the information about it, so I may get it thru /\/\.

I'm also under the assumption that as long as I'm willing to sign the license agreement, they (/\/\) will sell me a copy even though I'm "just a person"....this is correct right?

RSS is not longer released. Last verision was 9.5. This software is the same for the Astro Saber, XTS and Spectra. CPS 1 and 2 are compatiable with RSS 9.5. Once you go CPS 3, you can no longer use 9.5.

CPS3.0 is the current one, and runs around $300 or so. Obvioulsy you will need the hardware to program it as well.

If there are high-tier radio dealers in your area with the RSS, Motorola may refuse to sell it to you, and they will direct you to have your radio programmed by those dealers.

Thanks for the info...

"High-tier" radios and Milwaukee are not used together in the same sentence, as the only agencies around here with AS's or XTS's are the normal federal customers, and they don't need the MSS's help.

We'll see what Mother /\/\ has to say...
