Is Digital Modulation, in accordance to APCO 25 specifications anything lke NEXTEL's QAM16 digial? I read a little about both, and they both appear to be pretty similar. And because those Damn "Direct Connect" phones are in the Cop 800Mhz bands, there should be no problem in finding those 851Mhz frequencies.

After all, many business switched from quality conventional radios, whether they be UHF, of VHF, and decided to buy cell phones, why shouldn't I still monitor them? After all, they are "800Mhz digital trunking" radios, too.

iDEN uses VSELP for the voice coding and M16-QAM for the modulation. TDMA is then used to get more capacity per freq. This is very far from the APCO-25 specs.
