Does anyone know of any good books covering the subject of Land Mobile Radio's? As in the theory and installation and things of that nature.

Sorry about the vaugeness of my post, i have run a relm/bk dealership for close to 8 years now doing most of the countys installs and service. What I was wondering is there a commercial book out there kind of like ARRL's Handbook for amateur radio. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a good one called "Radio system design for telecommunications" published by John Wiley and Sons Inc., A Wiley-Intersience publication. Editor is Roger L. Freeman.
It was around $100 a few years ago. Covers mostly technical theory of microwave, propogation, cellular, paging, HF, Interference, repeaters.

MRT magazine used to publish a monthly column by Harold Kinley that described various test procedures. Kinley has written a book: "Standard Radio Communications Manual, with Instrumentation and Testing Techniques" This may be available [used] from Amazon or other sources, or Kinley may still be selling them direct.

Here is a link to one of his articles with contact info at the end:

I can recommend Land Mobile Radio Systems, by Edward Singer, published by Prentice-Hall; Harold Kinley , previously mentioned, has written a book (can't remember title) published by McGraw-Hill.
