Syetem Keys?

Post by tomsdad »

Is anybody aware of any difference between a system key used by RSS and one by CPS?

I have been using RSS R06.05 wth a valid key for my MTS, but have now had the MTS upgraded and was told to use CPS R01.10.00 from now on.

The old DOS codeplug converts Ok, but if I try to import the system key I get an "invalid key" response from CPS.

Any ideas?

Maybe the key is corrupt? Did you make it via the instructions on the batlabs.com site, or is this a real system key?

Actually, if the Batlabs key worked for your MTS, even in RSS, you were very lucky. That method generally only seems to work for older radios which only cared about the last 2 digits of the key. A better question would be why did it work for you in the first place?

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Probably for the very reason you stated - older radio.

When I did the key for RSS the radio had earlier firmware than it does now.

The radio was getting pretty long in the tooth firmware wise, and it needed some decent flashcodes added so it got a trip to the local M service centre;-)
