Motorola Centracom Series II

Post by ExKa|iBuR »

Hi all;

I had a friend give me some parts of an old Motorola Centracom Console.

It looks pretty similar to this:

The bottom part (with the two speakers and clock in the middle) is identical to what I have.

Anyway, I obviously don't have all the parts needed to make this thing work... But, I was wondering. Is there any way I can get the clock to work? Or, as part of the Centracom system, what else is there to the system?

I'd love to get the clock to work, even if nothing else does anything. I was thinking I'd use the bottom unit as a clock and as external speakers for my radios.

Any suggestions/help?

What radios do you own?: HT1250LS+ & CDM1250

Unless you plan on getting the rest of the parts and spending a small fortune. better off selling it on e-bay and buying yourself a nice rackmount clock (if thats what your looking for) and a couple of speakers. these things are not the easiest to "play around with"

The clock info is generated from the "CEB" (Central Electronics Bank) which is a seperate rack mounted unit.
Without that, all you will see is the letters "LD" and a number counting up from zero. This means "Link Down" and the numbers will be the number of seconds since the link went down.
