Has anyone installed a siren in a Saturn?

I am considering adding a siren to my 99 Saturn SL2. I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice as to what type of speaker and mounting bracket to use, and where to mount the speaker. I could not find any very convenient place for a speaker after a quick inspection under the hood. Thanks,
Pete

Please tell me this ain't another project that we could move to this category: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... highlight=

It would however make for an interesting install! I am sure installing the speaker would be a pain with virtually no grille space and no interior room - perhaps a remote application with 1 or 2 switched in the console may do the trick...I would also think that for a saturn, you'd have to go with a compact speaker. If you can fit the Whelen SA314, that be a great speaker!

Hehe I know that Saturn's are not typically outfitted with lights / sirens as most buff's buy Crown Vic's or other police models. I already have 4 hideaway strobes (2 in tail lights, 2 in headlights) and a single green Whelen DashKing running off of a 90 watt Whelen power supply. It actually doesn't look unnatural at all..

I may need to upgrade to red lights in the near future, so I will add a second DashKing and a siren if that is the case... Definitly looking for a remote mount siren. Thanks for the speaker advice, I'll look into it.

Anyone else have any recommendations? I don't have any fog lights installed... maybe tommorw I'll look under the car and see how the foglights mount in their little hole in the bumper.

Not certain about the Saturn, but most of the compact cars that have no room behind the grill, you can find in the wheel well in front of the front tires. Normally there is a battery or windshield wiper bottle on one side and the other one is empty.

Not as loud as going directly out, but you do what you have to.

A Dynamax or other slim speaker is what you are going to need.

Get the Whelen x314 speaker and a Sho-Me 30-2104 undercover siren.

The siren mounts under the seat. Switch panel can go anywhere.

For the speaker, start cutting! There's usually some air dams or baffles in the grill area that can be cut to get the speaker facing porward. Don't put it in the wheelwell unless absolutely necessary. You'l get stones, mud, water and everything else that doesn't belong in a speaker in the speaker.

Yeah, I should have added to put it there as last resort.

The only time I have ever put it in the wheel well is on the chrysler sebrings, because it has a rubber piece on the bottom that pretty much keeps all the dirt and trash deflected away from the speaker.
