XTS 3000 programming question "RADIO LOCK"

the help menus in CPS specifically mention that power up password does not work with a secure module in the radio...
however, there is another option under the display tab that says "RADIO LOCK"
enabling this function has the radio power up and prompt for PASSWORD...
but there's no stinkin way in the CPS to enter the password (see the first topic above - these lines where you enter the password are greyed out in CPS)
if this RADIO LOCK function does indeed work - what is the default password?

It does work. If you have a secure module, the password is managed by the module and hence not in the codeplug.
Default is 01234567 from memory. Then you use the PSWD menu item to change it.

Bare in mind that your first attempts at getting the password right or into the radio may result in encryption key erasure

But after you set the password to something you know, you'll be fine from then on in.
thx

i found the procedure to do this in of all things.... the "basic users manual" for xts model 3
if the radio is secure equipped, the key is indeed controlled by the secure module.
should you not have the key, no problem-o
enter eight asterisks (*) and then hit the top side button.
this will dump the secure keys in the radio and RESET THE PASSWORD TO THE FACTORY # 01234567
however, the radio password can now be set/re-set using the menu "PSWD" function... when asked for the OLD password - it will now be 01234567... then it will prompt you for your NEW password...
hope that helps someone else out there!
