Ask him for photos of him holding his new Model II with it turned on, and a photo of the back showing the model number stating it's a I :)

I'm sure it does work fine...as far as RX/TX. It may even show greek lettering on the screen...or not. What it won't do is allow 160/255 modes, or actual screen names that a real Model II could do, among other things (PC encode, CA encode, Phone lists, etc). Tell him to prove it or stuff it.

C'mon Todd..... as long as it LOOKS like a Model II on his belt, thats all that matters.

I agree with Sundown, a pic showing the modeml number when you are entering service mode.

Also as others pointed out he will not have access to model II features, including alpha numeric. Ask him to program a specific name into channel 1 then show it to you.
