Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knows what the going price is for an XTS3000 Convertacom / AVA on eBay (there are none listed - active or completed). How much does this unit run new from Motorola? I'm going to be getting a new car at some point, and I'm trying to decide if I should buy a convertacom or an actual Astro Spectra.

Thanks.

OK... question about using an XTS5000R in an MTVA ...

Lets say we want to add 'MDT' ability. Will the docked portable function as a data-radio sufficiently well to be used so we don't ahve to add a mobile to all our trucks?
Or will it NOT be feasible because every time you insert/remove the portable, it breaks and re-establishes comms with the data center?

Yes, I saw the Part# for the "data kit" above, what's in it? what's it for? Is there yet maybe an adapter to do simple messaging/SMS with these new Astros? Seems as if I saw that was in the plans for this platform...

Thanks.

Tom
(oh, ours are 800mhz)

Quick question...

Hello to all..

I have some ASTRO XTS Vehicular Adapters (NTN8560), or XTVA's and there is an important note in the manual, stating the "XTVA operation require XTS 3000 radio software version R05.52.03 or later for proper operation". Are they referring to the RSS or CPS, or the firmware of the radio. I believe it is the radio since I don't thing the RSS version is that high. If it is the firmware, how easy is it to upgrade and or how expensive would it be for the upgrade. Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm not to experienced with the XTS series. Also if your radio is not at the required version will it still operate. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Steve
