Hi, I'm having a problem with my Saber 1. The Saber 1 Is a 6d Core 460-490 MHz Spilt. I switch the high split modules to a mid split 440-470 Mhz, and when I created a new personality with the same H44SAN7139CN Model number and changed it 440-470 MHz band with, I get an Error Message saying the core does not match the current radio core. Could the problem be with the modules? Any help on this would be very appreciated. Thanks for time.

Hi Dan:

First, you might explain what type of program platform
you are using from the Radio Cable to the Computer and
everything in between.

Second, have you been able to program the radio before
without any troubles ?

Assuming your program platform is OK, all you really need
to do is " Create " a New Radio Personality !

However, you must stay within the same type of radio, just
chose the proper freq range and power.

=================================

Sometimes, it does NOT always work on the first try, so
make sure your settings are correct, and try again.

Short Tech tip:

Just make sure you are using true DOS 6.22 , a 386-486-25
Series Computer. NO WINDOWS !, Good Rib Box ( I always
recomend Motorola ones ) Good Rib Battery, Good Rib to
Radio Cable, and Power Supply.

With all of the above, you should not have much trouble

Lots of persons here on the board are very savvy about
Sabers and their programming quirks

Dan,

In the Radio options menu did you enable option H852? This is the option that 'turns on' the 6D CORE feature. When you create a default program, the default is 5D.

TK101 is right. The default setting for CORE is 5D. You have to enable the 6D option in the radio option screen and reprogram the radio. The CORE is located on the mainboard, so a module replacement will not change anything.

Thank you all for the info. I will try programming the radio using the 6D core option. I forgot all about that 6D option. I been away from Sabers since 1992.

Thanks
Dan

Hi All, Thanks for all your help. The problem was the 6D core option not enable. The radio is working good now.

Thanks
Take care All
