can a VHF pac RT work on a VHF system if the freq are far enough apart, or does it have to be a UHF pac on a VHF systm?

Thanks

In-band applications won't work as a rule....channel spacing and antenna are too close.

Pyramid offers an "in-band" system with their stuff. They use some hi Q filters to make it work.

Check it out.

Well, I am sure it had some range and sensitivity problems, but I currently have a VHF PAC-RT used by a local Sherrif's deputy on their VHF system. Freq's are 155.010/159.090 for the repeater and in the 170 or 172 (don't remember which) range for the PAC. However, as I said, I wouldn't promise proper performance.....

The thing to remember here is ISOLATION.. seperation between the antennas, and the rf cables. The filters do work but are pricey.

Had a customer with a VHF inband system on multiple vehicles that worked great without any filtering. As Will said, the key is antenna spacing.
