XTS3000 des-xl secure module question.

Hi there,

I just purchased two secure modules for the Xts3000.

Part numbers for the modules are: 0105956V67.

I installed one of the modules in my xts and programmed it with th rss and enabled "secure hardware" and a few other things. A had no probs in doing it so I thought it would be a cut and run operation....but hell no.

After programing the radio it suddently asks for a password after passing the self test. I didn´t enable the password feature as far as I recall so I read the radio again to check up on it and no...I didn´t. I tried to disable "secure hardware" but the radio still needs the password it seems. After passing thru the self test it asks for a password (which I don´t have) and when I then press the purple botton (lights) the display flashes shortly and the radio then powers up as normal execpt that it gets the error 09/10. So it seems the radio can´t see that the module has been installed.
Could it be that there´s a default password that has to be entered before the radio will allow the module to power up? It´s like the radio looks for the module after pressing the password but it´s not the right one and then it powers up again just with the error.

I hope someone can help. It really puzzles me.

NO,

It dosn´t help at all. I´ve tried that default password already.

The password feature has not been enabled in the rss. No matter what password I enter I can´t get access to the password sub menu niether the key menu.

The radio still says error 09/10 and it IS secure equipped.

Any suggestions?

Anyone knows if 0105956V67 is des-xl?

Hmm,

I believe this Xts came from Nick and was one of his latest versions.

It´s R07.08.00 so according to this it shouldn´t be the problem.

I just wonder why the password suddently has to be entered even though I didn´t enable that particular feature in the RSS.

Could it perhaps be something during the programing I missed?

This really gives me a ............... :(

What is this UCM anyway?

It seems my RSS should work with this module.

Tried to program it again but still with out any luck. No matter what I do it gives me the same error 09/10.

see this: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... ght=secure

read my post at the end about re-setting the board.

HOWEVER, if your radio is reporting a 09/10 error, the board is AFU or not installed correctly (not seated all the way)

bottom line - your radio is reporting a HARDWARE problem....

I´ve now tried to disable the "Radio Lock" feature totally and I´ve enabled it again and entered the eight * and the default password and absolutely nothing happens.

I can´t get access to either the password and key menues at all. After I´ve entered the default password the display flashes shortly as I mentioned earlier (like it tries to get contact to the module or something) and then it says error 09/10.

I have two similar modules I purchased recently and I´ve installed both the modules in the radio now and none of them seem to work properly.

I doubt they shouldn´t be installed correctly.

Okay.

Thanks a lot. I´ll open it and check up on this.´

I´m sorry I didn´t get to respond to your reply sooner but I got hit by a blaster twice and have been totally off line for a while.

Anyway it´s a very detailed description you posted.
I´ll get back when I have more info.

Again Thanks.
