Astro RSS 9.05 problem !! SOLVED 8-)!!

ok,
I have been sent a codeplug that I have been assured is for astro RSS 9.05, and after a quick look at the plug in hex editor it does look like an RSS plug, not a CPS plug.
However :
When I try to open it with RSS 9.05 I get the dreaded codeplug too new for this application error.
The same thing for another plug that is supposed to be 9.01 !!
(I have also tried the 9.01 plug in 9.03)
I must be missing something here, apart from my sanity.
Any ideas??

BTW: As this cp has not solved my problem yet, the mic offer is currently still open.

Hmm, I don't know what the problem would be. Email me the codeplugs you have and I'll see whether I can open them with my RSS or not. Perhaps you have an 'overseas' version of the RSS which isn't compatible with the North American codeplugs (I'm assuming they were N.A. plugs that were sent to you)?

Thanks wavetar, the plugs are in the mail!

Has anyone else out there had problems opening astro plugs from a different installation of RSS?
If it is some kind of international restriction then I am probably stuffed, but it may explain why I cant read my xts3k's origional codeplug with my version of 9.05 (when the plug was created in 2000!!).

I have seen something similar. I tried sending someone a 9.04 codeplug, and it wouldn't work on their 9.04. I sent them a 9.02 codeplug, and their 9.04 liked it.

:-?
The big /\/\ really knows how to make life difficult.
So presumably I am not only going to require a codeplug to rescue my radio, but a matching copy of the regional rss that actually saved the codeplug file!! Despite already having a matching revision number!!
AAAHHHHHHRGGGGGG!!!!!!
Maybee I'll just use my XTS3k's as hammers/tyre chocks/paper weights, and switch to kenwood or something.
Dont get me wrong , I love a challenge, but owning a moto is like putting your nuts in a vice :o sometimes!

I assume it was a regional RSS problem? I just opened both of your codeplugs with my RSS 9.05 & it had no problem with them at all! Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Yes, it must have been some form of regional protection.
But its all better now :) .
