I have this speaker now hooked up....however I think I need to put a resistor in line with the audio.......where do I do that at? in the speaker? in the wiring outside the speaker? and what size resistor do I use to be able to get the hum down?

I believe that those are the old Mostar amplified speakers. There is a small potentiometer on the amplifier boad that works to lower the gain. The speaker has an aluminum tang on the rear of the speaker housing that is a heat sink for the amplifier as well as a mount.
