I was interested in this unit but was not happy with the color options. I was looking for blue/white for a security company I do business with. The local PD (Mesa AZ) requests that we not use red facing forward and since this is only in service on private property, we can go with blue and white. I am looking at creating a version based on it with parts from http://www.superbrightleds.com. I can get enough for a 200 led unit forward and a 48 led unit in the rear for about $250 in parts. I cannot wait to start this project!

I think Tempe PD uses some of these on some unmarked units.

Thanks for any replies.

cranbiz,

Saw that. It was some of my inspiration for this project. Not sure I like the 9 count pcb's. Might do my own etching. Your project turned out really nice.

I have seen other types of systems like the SVP in the blue/white scheme, don't like the design as much. Tempe PD has an Impala with this front and rear. It's like looking into a laser beam. If the costs came down on these systems, I think they'd be more popular. This might just be something I'd think about marketing if I could get the cost down some. I'd like to see this retail at all colors for around $400 or so.

Thanks for the replies.
