I called my dealer and was told mid summer. He stated will be the same as a IV but capable of doing 12.5 or 25 bandwidth

Ah just as I suspected.
Minitor V is the same as a minitor IV which is the same as a minitor III which is a piece of crap.

according to a tech I talked to the other day, it will be more sensitive, and designed in the old MII case, and use MII accessories and batteries.

You've got to be kidding me. They really need to make up their minds.
1. The minitor II is a perfectly good pager. Obviously we need to can that product line.
2. Build the Minitor III and ensure it is as big a POS as possible.
3. Redesign and replace all the Mintitor III's to fix some of their many problems. Still a POS.
4. Everyone hates the Minitor III. Lets make a new model and claim it is better. We'll take a Minitor III with a new mode knob and call it the Minitor IV. Of course, it is still a POS.
5. Since we didn't make the Minitor IV capable of 12.5Khz, we'll need to make yet another new pager. Now we'll take the Minitor IV, make it do 12.5Khz and put it in a Minitor II housing. People will look at it and think "Minitor II" and buy it! Yay.

The only good part about the Minitor 3/4 is the rechargable AAA batteries. Why would they want to change that? Last I looked at original /\/\ batteries they were upwards of $10 each. Highway Robbery!!

You answered your own question.

And I also believe a small portable is much better than a pager anyway. We are transitioning to UHF at the moment and that is part of my master plan. Screw pagers, mini portables all the way.
