Backlight on CDM1250

How do I keep the backlight on a CDM1250 at full brightness without a programmed button to set the brightness? The backlight was full brightness until I re-programmed the radio, then when the radio re-set, the backlight is dim. I've tried setting a button for the backlight, turning the backlight up full, and re-setting the button both with and without the "Backlight on Power Up" checked and when the radio re-sets the backlight is dim.

I have the same problem with the CDM1550. I ended up programmning one of the long press buttons to do the light. Would love to find a way around that!
