Check those pins on the connector going to the radio, they may have spread a little over time, especially if it is homemade.

Also, try putting the radio in programming mode by pushing the MENU-SELECT- ENTER buttons while powering the radio up.

Good luck

Hi:

So long as you have the correct Software ( 7.01.00 is a good choice )
for your radio along with a 386-486-25 w/4mb
of Ram, Factory Motorola Rib ( or suitable
clone ) along with a good Saber Program cable
you should not have much trouble.

Make sure you are using a proper OS like DOS
6.22, and do not tey and use DOS under a Windows application

From the main menu screen, push F9 computer
set up screen, generally chose Com 1 or 2, make sure the com ports are not shared with
another device.

Sabers are pretty healthy radios, but the code plugs can / do become corrupted if you
have a unstable program platform

Avoid just holding wires to the back of the
radio, and cheap, poorly made clones with
exposed componets.( unless you like to experiment alot )
