I just got a cdm1550 and i am installing it in a 2003 Sonoma (same as S-10) pickup truck. I want to be able to leave it turned on and when i turn the truck on or off by ignition i want the radio to do the same. What are my options for doing so. My maratrac is nice and turns on and off by ignition. I want my cdm1550 to do the same. Thanks in advance.

Connect a (fused) ignition switched sense line to pin 10 on the accessory connector. (The pinout can be found on the main Batlabs site).

In the CPS, under Radio Configuration\Accessory Configuration, set "Ignition sense Type" to either "Follow Ignition Only" or "On/Off & Ignition" (depending on whether you still want the radio's power sitch to operate).

One thing to be careful of is where you're going to pull the main power from.
/\/\ say's to go to the battery and offers that it's "just" to reduce the possibility of suffering alternator whine... but I've seen too many 750's blow up being tied to the dc supply bus (in school busses).
Connecting these puppies to a point downline of the starter and alternator connections has inserted an amount of noise on the dc line which has destroyed components in the ignition sense circuit when the bus engine was cranked.
I think that /\/\ came out with a fix for this, but putting in a 470 ohm resistor instead of a fuse in the ign sense line will do the trick too. The resistor will limit the noise current without interfering with the circuit's ability to see the ignition being turned on.
