I bought a astro saber III.... cheap, the unit, when put into self test mode goes like this... LAB RELEASE HHE582, MODEL 1, 465ayy****, then does the standard rf and ch tests, I might add that the info is in both upper and lower case letters, I'll see if I can read it tomorrow, if you want a copy of the CP, I can accomodate you.

No idea. Except that the firmware release probably is a development type.

The seller was telling you the truth, I'll bet. Consider that controller to be useless.
