Hi All,

I am asking a question that may have already been addressed. But here goes.......

On an APCO P-25 Digital Smartzone system can you set up a talkgroup for RX only so that it can be monitored or scanned or either/or?

We have the need for our FD personnel's XTS2500 and XTS5000 radios to be able to listen to EMS dispatch, but they do not need TX capability on the Dispatch talkgroup. And viseversa for the EMS folks, they need to be able to monitor the FD dispatch talkgroup, but not TX on it.

Any suggestions......

I'm new at the APCO P-25 stuff...........

One option would be to put it in zone where it can't be reached, (17th or greater position) but put it in the scan list. Be sure that talkback is not enabled in setting up the scan list.

That way they could scan it, but could only tx on the selected TG.
