Spectra-Tac Element Question.

Post by swest »

Hello,
I recently bought a spectra-tac receiver that I would like to use to learn a little more about them. From what I can gather on the boards here is that they use the Micor Elements. Can someone please tell me if that is correct and if so where I could get them. I am looking for 155.5500. Any information would be great.

Thank You

They are indeed the same as a Micor.

There are several places that make replacement crystals for the Channel Elements used in SpectraTac receivers.

Frequency Management Corp (Standard's crystal mfg. co).800- 800-9825 in Huntington Beach, CA

Sentry Mfg. 800 252-6780.

If you need repairs or parts, I have lots of SpectraTac rec's.

Spectra-TAC Receiver Channel Element

Another source for the channel element would be International Crystal in Kansas City. You might consider ordering a service shop manual from AAD Part Dept. 1-800-422-4210 and Part# 68P81039E45. This covers the Voting and Satellite Receivers.

VHF Model Numbers:

C04RTB1108 Carrier Squelch
Co4RTB3108 Tone Private Line
C04RTB6108 Digital Private Line

You've got to watch the different versions of the Audio Control Modules TRN6080 because someone in engineering modified the module taking out either L2 or L3 Inductor (I just can't remember which inductor they removed and installed a 10 K potentiometer) for performing the TELCO equalization on the land lanes. When you would attempt to perform this function the recovered audio would have too much low frequency response.

SpectraTAC receivers ARE Micor receivers. You can swap the receiver out of a MICOR base, mobile, etc with a SpectraTAC and vise versa. Provided it's the same band, the crystal elements are interchangeable as well.

I've got several of these connected to an MSF5000. They work great.
