XTS Public Safety Speaker Mic RF Adapter Pricing

Post by MtComm »

Does anyone know why Moto charges $10 if you buy the NTN8327 RF
Adapter with either the 3K or 5K. If bought later, the same part is $140.
You have to have the adapter to use the PS Speaker Mic. Moto ships the
unit loose in either case. Why the huge price difference?

It's just like a car...the 6 CD changer is dirt cheap when you buy it with the car, but is like 1000% more when you buy it after the fact :P

It's good marketing on Motorola's part.

I wonder if someone makes an adapter that is a "T" arrangement...SMA Male on one side, SMA Female on the other and a BNC female on the "T" part. That'd work just fine for most people and probably wouldn't cost $140.
