UHF XTS3000 Programming ?

Programmed my UHF XTS3000 I with CPS ver 4.0.
Everything works fine except it wont TX on anything programmed on 449.XXX.
448.XXX, 412.XXX, 410.XXX or 460.XXX works fine
It acts like the vco wont lock on 449.XXX
Sometimes it will key the local repeaters on 449.XXX but then it emits a solid tone and no more TX
Any ideas?

sounds like the VCO crossover freq is wrong. Was this force fed another personality to get more options by chance?

No, just a regular freq programming
I tried two different 449.XXX freqs in two different areas
Same results

Was the radio previously programmed with DOS RSS for these freqs and it worked OK???
If it was previously programmed with DOS but not on these freqs AND you saved an archive file in RSS, then put that codeplug back into the radio and then try the 449 freqs to see what happens.
IF the problem shows up with either DOS OR CPS programming - you probably have an RF board issue, but I would still try aligning the radio with the CPS tuner.
IF the problem only shows up when the radio is programmed with CPS and not with DOS AND IF the radio is Motorola built [as opposed to an ebay parts built special] AND you are licensed for the CPS - THEN I would say you should call Motorola software support and open a case.

As far as I can tell it was programmed with CPS before I got it
I tried to read it with CPS 1.2 and 1.4.....no joy
Used 4.0 and it worked
My next step was to try CPS Tuner
Thanks

What is the bandsplit of the radio? Judging from your initial post it looks like 403-470.
Can you see if the flashcode in the radio matches the label on back? That would be a quick indication if someone loaded a different personality ointo the radio, possibly corrupting the VCO crossover.

Hi George
Its a 403-470Mhz
It had one 412Mhz freq in it when I got it
It programmed lower or higher freqs fine
It just refuses to TX on 449.XXX
I'll check the flashcode

So, was the crossover changed or was it fed an incorrect personality at one time?
Either way at least you got it working.
