While in the astro mode encryption, does "XL" increase the range as it does in analog secure?
Question 2, my KVL appears to only support DES. If I check XL in the radio programing(XTS3000), the radios will hear each other.Does this sound right?

XL Encryption (Coherent Synchronized Detection) is only capable in Analog Mode.

When you use ASTRO Secure there is no XL capabilities. Astro Encryption is P25 Digital nothing at all like conventional DES / or DES-XL

In order for XL to be used you must have the hardware and proper keyloader to load XL into the radio. if you Check XL when you dont have XL encryption will do nothing. You are just using DES not XL.
