What Model 800 Astro Mobile is APCO 16 Capable ?

Post by Leadenwah »

I will need an Astro 800 Digital Mobile in a few months which can do APCO 16. Is there an Astro Mobile Model or Model Series which will fit this plan?

Thanks,
Geo.

Isn't APCO-16 the specifications for emergency features, status/alerts, etc...? If that's the case, every Astro Mobile (and Portable for that matter) will do it.

But since all the Astro products out there are pretty new and high-tier products, if it's not included from the factory, it's available as a FlashPort option.

Edit: Yeah, I just did some looking around, Motorola has supported APCO-16 since 1984 in it's products since it's introduction of Smartnet Trunking, so I would hazard a guess in saying that every SmartNet radio will do APCO16, and without a doubt, every Astro product will do it.

Here's a link to Motorola's Mobile radio offerings, all of which include APCO16 (APCO25 includes the standards found in APCO16, and are backwards-compatible):
