I recently picked up a UHF MTS2000, Model II. I quite like it so far, I just need to figure out how to fashion a remote cable, looks like an easy project!.

However, this radio has a full MDC feature set - and has the flashcode 000001-00000-9 which comes out of the flashcode decoder with having just conventional operation.

Any ideas? I thought you had to have a flash code specificly with this feature enabled. There might be an extra 0 in the first and second parts, but the last digits are correct.

Let me know,

What do you mean by full MDC?

Most radios out today includes it. Unless its a special MDC package, it will not show up in the flashcode because its part of the convential package.

For instance, my Astro Sabers include ID, Message/Status, varible ID, secondary, preamble etc etc. For the most part, everything that was optional in the last radio series (MT1000, X9000, SPECTRA) in now standard on radios today.

Funny, since I recently had a new UHF MTS2000 Model I flashed with H35 conventional only with no MDC.

It may have been flashed at the depot with the decode option or elsewhere... I have an MCS 2000 that won't decode or encode with out the right flash...

Hrm.

By full MDC I mean encode/decode, status, messaging, MDC Page/Sel Call, emergency.

It seems to do it all. I think it's got a 5.1something firmware. I'd have to go out to the car and make a note. It seems to work real well, even in the ham band (after the bandlimit hack).
