Just got this astro. need to decide how to configure memory to specific desires.
can I setup more than 1 scanlist? or does it default to scan only the 16 memorys accesible thru the knob? What does the little switch @ ch selector for? a-b are those 2 scan banks? what about the other switch left of the volume? what function can it perform? To decode or encode apco or what?
once a scan list is setup can one skip over channels or is that only software do-able?(makingup my own words now)
what are zones? how many are there?
maybe some examples of others set ups would claify this

With any astro, it can be setup a number or way.

Assuming you don't have the proper programmings setup...

All those buttons and switches can be programmed to do a number of functions.

The rocker switch with the 0 and the 0 with the / thru it is commonly used the clear/coded encyption option. The A/B is normally used for no scan/scan.

If you have a model 2 or model 3 radio, you can setup a scan list for each zone (bank) of channels. Model 1 (no display) is pretty much the same, but is limited to 32 channels (2 zones of 16).

Really, everything needs to be first setup in the software first. What do you have access to?
