I ran this by Mike B, but he hasn't heard of it either. Not too long ago, someone had an X9000 with the model number ending in SP99. The seller did not have any information on where is came from. Any ideal? This is what I do have for SP's--

SP01 - HHCH dual radio
SP04 - Sys9000 dual radio
SP06 - X9000 with Spectra receiver
SP99 - ?????

----Does anyone have information on the SP06 setup?

I THOUGHT I SAW ON MIKE'S SITE THAT SOMEONE EMAILED HIM WHO GOT ONE OF THESE AND IT WAS A RECEIVER ONLY. NOT POSSIBLE TO TRANSMIT FROM IT.

I HOPE MIKE DOESN'T MIND. STRAIGHT FROM HIS WEBSITE.

"Watch out for Motorola equipment that model numbers that end with an SPnn (the nn are numeric digits). Sometimes it is useful, other times this special equipment may be useless. An example of useless was e-mailed to me. The Syntor X 9000 radio model number T34KEJ7J04AKSP99 is a receiver only. The RF Power Amplifier deck is missing, the radio housing never even had the screw holes for the missing RF PA threaded and other Tx wires and parts are missing. It is a nice working Syntor X 9000 receiver, but, if you expected an entire radio including the transmitter you will be very disappointed. An example of useful is the T51VBJ7204AKSP01, T51VBJ7D04AKSP01 and T51VBJ7J04AKSP01 Syntor X low band radios. These are Syntor X low band radios with reduced 60 watt power levels and are complete functioning radios. Motorola is the only entity that possibly has any idea of how many SP variations they created (they may have even forgotten some of them themselves). Consider this to be a heads up type warning, unless you already know the SP equipment details you are entering completely uncharted territory when you mess with SP equipment."

Thanks. I didn't see it there. Kinda sucks for the guy who bought it for over $250...
I believe the model number started T45xxxx

Oh well. Another one to add to the list!

JMR---Pics of the truck coming by the end of the week. The TNC and laptop, and the covering for the wire should be in place.

Isn't the SP99 kind of a generic notation, it seems to me like I've seen it quite a few times and it's always meant something different.

Thank you JMR964 (Jason) for the posting quote, I could not have said it better myself .

I do not know if Motorola has any generic SP numbers, you would have to ask them.

You can only compare SP99 numbers when they are from the same model radios. I would not expect a MaraTrac SP99 radio to have similar factory modifications as a Syntor X 9000 SP99 radio. That goes for any SP number. Maybe someone will hear from the person that got the T45xxxxSP99 and can tell us if it had the same factory modification as the T34KEJ7J04AKSP99 radio.
