Rib required for Xts3000 radios?

Or can programming be done with simply the proper cable as with xts3500/xts5000?

Yes, the XTS3000 requires the same RIB & cable as the Jedi (HT1000, MTS2000, etc) series of radios. I assume you meant XTS2500/5000, as the XTS3500 uses the RIB & Jedi cable as well.

The standard Motorola RIB & cable are of course available from Motorola. You can go to businessonline.motorola.com and apply to open an account there, or try purchasing them through a local MSS. Be aware that the factory original RIB & cables aren't cheap!
There are many 'clone' RIBs & cables available on ebay, but your mileage will vary. Use the 'search' feature here on the board & you'll find lots of threads regarding the use of 'clone' products.

There are also certain manufacturers such as Polaris who specialize in making clone RIBs & cables.
