Hello. On my FD we are are using the HMN9052C speaker mic. We are experiencing problems when they get wet. You can transmit, but receive audio is very low. Does anyone have a solution for this? I thought about swapping the body of a HT1000 speaker mic, NMN6128C, it looks like it is more resistive to water. Also, the cord portion is a bit to short, does Motorola make a longer cord? A lot for one post. Thank you in advance for your help.

Not to mention that they seem as they would not survive a beating inside a fire scene.
I know what the reply will be, BUt I have to say anyway:
What happened to Motorola making good, strong, and reliable products like the p200 speaker mic. Even though it's had its share of problems, in general they hold up pretty darn well while getting roughly abused.
I've seen 2 go bad since I have dealt with radios. One due to getting doused with paint after an explosion inside a paint factory. The other from water damage, from bouncing around on the floor while a 2& 1/2 firehouse was severely dripping on it for about ten minutes.
ANyone else have any opinions about pro series speaker mics?

It is very ovious these are NOT Pro radios. They are DEFINETLY NOT Motorola quality, made by Matel?
No less than HT1000, or Saber for fire duty.
