Hi. Guys. Thanks in advance for any input! I have an 800mhz spectra that I use as receive only. It is a trunking radio. The unit was already programmed for me when I received it. When not in scan mode some channels I can receive on and some channels I can,t receive anything on. The channels that I don,t receive this way I can receive no problem if I enter them in a scan list. I don,t understand why I can receive them while in scan mode but not if I just sit on the channel? I have read previous posts about mike hangup etc? Do you think this is what is happening here? Seeing as how you would not have a microphone for a monitor only radio... If your control head has a monitor key "MON", turn scan off, select one of your "silent" modes and press MON to change its state and defeat the Rx PL/DPL.

If this fixes your problem, then reprogram the radio with the correct Rx PL/DPL, change the mode to carrier squelch or always keep the MON in the correct state.

If you do not have a MON key, then borrow a microphone and ground the back clip to see if that works or not.

If it does not fix your problem, then you probably have a programming problem with one or more trunking modes.
