System Keys

Post by Mike Watters »

Anyone know of any key generating data that will produce keys for use in CPS? I have produced keys for RSS but they will not work in CPS.

Thanks

There is a program called skeygen, but I don't know whether it will work with CPS or not.

Our old key that works in RSS works fine in CPS also. You have to browse the CPS to the folder containing the key and it will import the key.

Word has it that some keys "hacked" into being will not work with CPS. Some work, others don't. Legit key will obviously work.. :)

I see 9600 systems use 3-digit system IDs. Are the keys the same as a system starting with '0' (I.E. SysID 321 is really 0321) or is there something else different?

Any idea why Motorola changed to 3-digits from 4-digits? Wouldn't the 4th digit fit in the datastream?

Thanks,
Joe

The 9600bps system key is literally only 3 digits, not four with a leading zero. I don't know why they went this way for them.

The Skeygen DOS Program generates system keys that will work for Windows CPS Programs
