I have a Saber III VHF securenet, It is a 5D Radio.
While I communicate with my friends they said that they could not hear my voice.
They told me if I speak to the mic. and the distance is far from 1 CM they could not hear anything but if I speak to the mic. very closely (my lips almost touch the radio front panel) they can hear very loudly and clearly.
I tried to use a Remote Mic. but it is same. Is my Radio Mic or connecting has some problem ? Does anyone help me to slove this problem because I do not want kiss my RADIO all the time.

i had a saber 1 with almost the same problem . the mic on the radio wouldnt work for crap and the speaker mic was about the same.. you had to talk real close and almost loud ,, even threw the convertacom was usless. it had a bad chip on the board, and i dont recall what one it was ... and i no longer have the radio . . it was not cost effective for me to get it fixed. it was scraped for parts.... but there are pepople on this board who are able to fix those problems .... one question ....did you drop test it ????

Hi, just to let you know, that I have the same "problem" with one of my mt2000's. Apparently one of my friends has a Cobra FRS radio, and when I use the Motorola commercial radios, it "cuts out" and the end user that has the cheaper non-Motorola radio cannot hear me at all. The transmission appears to cut out as said before. Maybe its a cheaper brand name problem lol

Although I can't say this for every
radio, I have found the Audio Dynamics
of the Mic Cartiage does get poor with
time ! And they can / do need replacing.

Also, many experimenters tend to Crank
on the Alighnment values only to make
the radio sound very poor.

If in doubt, seek out a licensed, Certified
Tech and ask them if they are familure with
the particular radio, and see if perhaps a
simple realighnment will solve the problem.

If not, then you can proceed to the next
step in repairs.

Motorola radios WILL sound very good if maintained properly !

I see to many cases where one JUST programs
the Freqs, and pays no attention to the
Dev / Audio settings in transmitt.

Thanks all of you value information.
First, the radio never dropped however, it is a used Radio.
Second, my Radio only have 5D core, in my RSS R07. 6D have MIC Volume/Gain Control but my radio could not upgrade to 6D.
Is it mean if I UNCHOOSE some function from RSS will let my RADIO MIC. function become better or I need to buy a new CONDENSOR Mic to replace the original one ?
